Pilgrimage Holidays
Carreg Trust in 2009 is planning to extend the range of retreats
and holidays that it can offer to those seeking peace, quiet and spiritual
refreshment beyond the island of Bardsey itself.
Bardsey is the end point of what was once an important ‘high medieval’ pilgrimage route through North Wales which has become once again since the middle of the last century a destination for modern day pilgrims. The final part of two traditional pilgrimage routes that travels through the Llyn peninsula, are now well established and known as the Northern and Southern routes. The Northern route in particular from Bangor, Clynnog Fawr and Nefyn and onward to the Aberdaron area has in fact become a well established and popular long distance footpath. Along ‘the way’ there are many fascinating pilgrim churches, wells and many other historical associations, all set in some of the most beautiful coastal scenery in Wales.
