The Calming Touch
My previous experience has always been office orientated,
I took a career break in November 2006.
Taking this time
out made me rethink my career path and opportunities.
After completing a Level 2 Diploma in Counselling for Beginners
although I felt the need to help people decided that this
was not for me and I chose the complementary route.
This was decided after helping a friend out with
an extremely tense back, having given her many massages, albeit
non professional,
she was of the opinion I had "healing hands"! This spurred me
on to retrain as a massage therapist.
This couldn't be done until I had studied Anatomy
& Physiology , VTCT (Vocational Training Charitable Trust) Level
3 Diploma at Wirral Met College at Conway Park, Birkenhead.
I passed and continued my study with VTCT
Level 3 Certificate in Swedish Massage, VTCT Level 3 Diploma
in Indian
Head Massage and latterly Hopi Ear/Auricular Candle Therapy,
all of which I have passed successfully.
Continuing with my study, I am now at the same
college studying VTCT Level Diploma in Complementary Therapies
which includes Reflexology and Aromatherapy Massage whilst updating
my Swedish Massage skills and Anatomy & Physiology and Pathology.
This has got to be the best decision of my life,
I love helping people and making them feel good about themselves
and can't wait to complete my qualifications.
I am at present setting up my business as a mobile
therapist.
